I'm trying to get some touch up paint for my 1995 Aquamarine Pearl /Silver FLHR and I'm getting confused on paint codes'
Also I'm in the UK and there seems to be very few places - if any - that offer touch up paint with PPG references
The paint codes I'm finding are
PPG ? 47435
or
98603 BB (I don't know what this code is)
Could anyone explain the difference and ideally anyone in the UK know where I can order some from ..... I don't need much just enought to do a few small touchups - something like here (but this is USA) https://www.paintscratch.com/touch_u...ll-Models.html
Simon old chap, have you considered trying a scratch repairer franchise? I don't imagine they will be cheap, never having tried one, but their skill is matching what your paint has faded to, not what it came out of the factory looking like. Just a thought!
In the states these numbers are easily crossed to Dupont Chromabase, the colors you have are base coat / clear coat, a good paint store can mix them in a touch up bottle but the match will be off (darker) because the pearl won't be in effect. Check around because some paint stores have to work some to convert the Harley paint codes and don't want to mess with it, just got a quart of Harley Concord Purple off paint codes,
I had thought about getting a spot repair done .. but after seeing some of the jobs they leave a little to be desired and it also means you can't do any future little chips etc yourself.
I have found a company in the UK - RS Bike Paint
They list the base and the pearl for Aquamarine and with 25ml of each (hopefully using 2 parts will mean it isn't darker) and 25ml of clear it comes to Ł42 ... worth a go at that as I'm happy building up colour then wetsanding / polishing

Will order some and report back
Putting Pearl on with a brush is going to look like hammered dog chit on a color match, only one way to do it to not be noticable. Your going to need activators, reducers with the above said direction and going to have enough money in it to paint a bike, that is why I mentioned the touch up bottle earlier, $30 in the states to have it mixed up.
Just know what activators and reducers cost for paint repairs plus blenders, think you made a good decision until it is time to paint a complete fender or tank, today's materials are off the charts in price.
