Hi, ive been thinking about fitting a progressive cartridge kit into the front forks, has anyone tried one these kits?
my bike is a 1991, started out as a tourglide, but altered into an flhs
I put them in my 06 streetglide years ago and it was night and day difference. I would imagine the same outcome in older bikes as well. Although I heard the price is fairly up there now, not the $220 I paid in '07ish
If you look in the touring section you'll find tons of people have them. Both the standard height and the lowering type.
I have them on my Street Glide, and I would recommend them.
Fortunately and at long last we have access to an increasing number of options on the suspension front, including cartridges. As pjb suggests, pop into the Touring section, where you will find countless suspension threads - just get yourself a long beverage before you press 'search'! Bear in mind that very few members comment on whether they ride solo or duo, so if Mrs M likes to ride along too be very selective of the posts you give credence to. Adding a passenger not only adds extra weight, which taxes many brands to cope with, but also the simple fact that a passenger out back gets a different riding experience to the rider, so needs special consideration for their comfort.
Thank you for all the replies, i am going for the cartridge kit, few other jobs i am doing first. new followers and ev13 to fit, and although my cam bearing is a torrington, i will fit a new one whilst its in pieces. Then i will rebuild the forks with the cartridge kit and will probably fit new bushes in them
