Having a solenoid button as a backup is not a bad idea, but it should not be the normal way of starting the bike.
We looking at the same bike? That FatBoy is one wrinkled fender (and a bit of tarnish on the forks, and a replaced timing cover) away from being showroom shape, or at least that's how the pics look to me.

Wheel mags look a bit weathered like its been kept outside. When I see low miles and not much attention to keeping up the details like starter, fender ect, I thinking neglect. $5k will buy a nice 98 where I live.

I agree, there is quite a bit of corrosion on the aluminum parts. Looks like it sat out.

That bikes in my area. I’ve seen it on Craigslist a couple of times. Low Mileage for the year is appealing. Unsure about that dealership though. I’ve seen a couple bikes with bad rust for sale at that place.
