Default New Cases....

So after all the broken **** and vibrations, it's coming down to be cases and a balancing of the wheels... Probably should have done this when I initially sheared the crank pin a couple of years ago.... Any ways today wasn't to cold so I figured I'd start the tear down.. only took 4 1/2 hours, I was surprised. hopefully I'll have the new cases together by the end of January. Till then here's some pics...

neededa little extra umph... 3/4” drive.. no problem..

I was surprised to see how clean the Piston tops were.. I guess my Wego III IS doing it's job...

Everything's on the bench.. I was happy with the rear down...

With everything out of the way it sure makes it easier to clean the frame.. lol....

There is too much temptation to use lots of red loctite. The fsm says a drop.

What does s&s have to say? I figured somebody much smarter than me wrote the instructions....

I just went and looked in my FSM and it rates the compensating nut at 150-165 ft lbs.
I wonder why they changed the rating so much in just 3 years.

I don't know either, but earlier bikes, going back to the shovels, needed truck-sized tools to disturb or refit the Comp. That's where my aversion to disturbing the primary myself has its origins!
