I think all you would need is this. I cannot believe it would be any more difficult than that.

Detachable mounting brackets weren't introduced until around 1997, certainly only towards the end of the Evos. We have threads in here where members have persuaded the later ones to fit, so take a look around, for hints and tips. It is our duty as owners of older bikes to prove that newer stuff can fit our bikes!

I've got one of the 97 up ones on my 94 road king. Had to get longer bolts for the mounts, and add one fender washer on each side. The later models are around a 1/4 inch wider in the rear frame and fender... Two fender washers make about an 1/8th and there is an 1/8th of play in the bracket. Once it lives on the bike for a few miles, the bracket takes a set and drops right on.

Just assemble it without the box on, and add washers as spacers til it fits.

Cheers

My 1995 Road King has a detachable sissy bar on it. My 2007 Ultra has a detachable on it. The distance is about 1 and 1/2 inch apart. so i cannot interchange. Tourpack/bar. dammit.

I used the newer kit to mount on my 95.
Just a few spacers needed to make it all fit.
