Default Considering this 1990 Springer

Greetings,

I haven't contributed to the EVO forum since my son totaled out my 93 Heritage. I'm looking to pick up another bike and I came across this EVO Springer for sale. I spoke with the owner, The bike appears fairly unmolested. He said the tread was good on the tires, but that they were old and should be replaced. He also recommended changing out the neck bearings. Overall, the bike seems pretty decent. I would like your opinion regarding buying this bike, what you would consider a reasonable purchase price, and what you would recommend as far as replacement items or minor upgrades while keeping the bike mostly stock in appearance.

Thanks for your input

That price is almost too good to be true. If it checks out (clean, non-salvage title, etc), it would be in my garage already.

As for the neck bearings if there is a zerk fitting get a heat gun and a grease gun and grease the ones that are in there.

Seems like a better than fair price, I’m sure he’ll take less too if that’s his asking price.

Most of the Springers I see are going for closer to $10,000. If it was closer to me I would be driving out to see it now.

Although I do notice the pictures are not too recent, I would think Monroe, CT would have some white stuff on the ground about now.

That's a very good price for a springer.

Did that bike come with the springer originally? Doesn't look like it...fender is a little wonky and dont springers have a shorter steering rake than thst bike has? And I thought they came with a 21" front wheel from that era. Can you get the vin number and run it? Also if that front end needs a servicing, like bushings etc., it can get expensive quick. Not knocking it just wondering if maybe that's why the price is so low.

I agree with Screamin beagle . It looks like a Fat Boy somebody put a springer on. The Heritage Springers did not come out till 1998.But it maybe a original HD springer front end. They are bringing good money theses days.
