And thank you 98hotrodfatboy for taking the time to post the photos, l appreciate your input as this is the first American bike l have owned and modified, having grown up with 50's to 70's type Norton, Triumph and BSA
Availability of parts and brands has been a steep learning curve.
Thank you, the camshaft and other parts are somewhere over the ocean on route so l am committed to making it work and it will.
A bit of milling/machining here and there and its all good.
I just have an overcautious type of personality having seen somethings go very wrong, very quickly.

Didn't have to do any clearance work on the lifter blocks but always a plus to check them, did have to do a little work on the cam chest.
W6H is a good cam, it will just carry a little deeper in the upper rpm's when the W6 will go flat, it is basically a W6 on steroids.
Thank you 1997bagger, I am gaining more confidence with the knowledge that several blokes have used the W6H and it has shown longevity and good service in their particular applications.
Unfortunately the Axtell barrels, pistons, rings and gaskets were delivered safely to myus address in Sarasota by UPS and were then mislaid up in Memphis by FedEx three weeks ago on route to Oz.
Never to be seen again, there use to be a severe punishment for tampering/removing other folks mail...First time this has ever happened to us so we cant complain, makes the rebuild a bit awkward though. By the way 98hotrodfatboy, purchased a set of S & S roller rockers (W6H @ .590), wasn't into the melee that occurred on the recent post regarding rollers but had been considering them for some time. Some fellows prefer brunettes, others blondes, irregardless of the engineering dynamics.
I don't think you can go wrong with the rollers.. I'll have mine soon.. money is a little tight right now.. Yeah my latest thread became a mockery... Hate that... So is Axtell sending new jugs?
l don't believe Axtell are liable as their delivery made it to Sarasota safe and sound with UPS. The problem arose when FedEx took delivery. There is a fellow on the case and if the parts don't show it may be dealt with through FedEx insurance? l'll wait a couple more weeks and then reorder the parts at Axtell. We purchased some S&S parts from J & P cycles and they were in town ready to pick up within a week, terrific service. l'm only glad l didn't do the tear down prior to receiving all the parts so at least l'm still on the road.

I've never run cast iron on an Evo, so I don't know what your cylinder temps will be. Cast Iron holds heat longer therefore will run higher temps than Aluminum. A couple of ways to help it to run cooler would be an oil cooler and an AFR meter. This way you know your mixture won't go lean once tuned properly adding to unnecessary heat..
