Damn that's impressive (not in a good way) then!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike I thought having the engine block breathing from the lower vent for the breather valve was a good thing. HD switched to top breathers in 93 for emissions venting the crankcase to the air filter.

It is.
Granted I didn't do it on the 111 but that's just so that any oil that sumps goes back to the tank with a head breather instead of on the ground like it does with a case breather that sits too long but that was a personal choice 'cause I'm lazy that way.
It shouldn't be the ignition system. The Daytona Twin Tec ignition and coil are less than 3 years old. I checked the voltage regulator a couple months ago before I replaced the battery to make sure that it wasn't the cause of the battery going bad.

Tony the only way you're gonna get that much carbon build up is from oil getting into the combustion chamber.
Since you have a case breather then I'm gonna guess valves or valve seals but that's just a guess since you didn't say anything about broken rings on the pistons.
I had virtually the same build before dropping in the 111 and I never had any consumption that I saw.
