Yes it is an 80. The guy I got it from didn't know much about it except that he changed the oil once, lol. It sounds like it might have an upgraded cam.

Your correct in the ghost flames. I found a couple more pics, not the best photographer...

Welcom to the forum, and congtrats on a nice bike. If you have never had an FX model you are really going to love this bike. I've always been a big fan of the FX models since they were introduced in the early 70's, and the rubber mounted engine models are the best of the breed with a good handling and a comfortable suspension that you can ride all day long. No big deal, but one thing that I noticed is that the front fender is on backwards, so either the previous owner was trying to customize his ride or he was under the influence of some mind altering substence when he painted it.

Haha, that's funny and I didn't notice and I'm sober, lol. Thanks for the info about the fx, it's all new to me. Looking fwd to putting in some seat time soon.

That bike will serve better with a Real Exhaust...
yea... broken record... But... True and Just a heads-up..

Welcome, Nice looking bike! I like the paint scheme. They are a nice handling bike. In addition to the front fender needing reversal, your missing the chrome fender strut/support covers, but it looks good like it is. YD
