I don't believe it would! Poor thing needs to be put right or taken to someone who can sort it out properly. That could include cleaning the heads, ports and valves, changing spark plugs (they may be the wrong grade), plus checking timing as already mentioned.

GB, I also read that a weak battery or bad connections starting there all the way towards the coil
is worth a look

Anything that might mess with the spark, so yes, that's another thing to check!

Just turn the fuel tank to off and let the bike idle the carb out of gas. When you turn it back on the bowl fills up nearly immediately.

Can't blubber if it aint got no gas....

I think lowering the idle is going to be the cure here......but never below about 1000 to 1100 rpm....that aint good for oil circulation.

Mine doesn't run on if I run 87, and runs on if I use 93. Runs cooler on 87 than 93... and I get fewer carb farts.

Mine runs well on 87....seems to digest 93 ok.... perhaps a little hot but not terrible.

lowered the Idle, retarded just a hair, already had changed plugs. Have not had a problem. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for all the suggestions.
