Default Front fork internals

Question for you guys that have both, old EVO's and newer twin cams. Was there any real improvements on the fork internal valving etc between '96 and '08? The reason I'm asking is I'll be using the lowers off an '08 Road Glide on my '96 Road King and was wondering about the internals. I'm running RaceTech single rate springs now so those will be staying, but what about the other parts in the '08? From looking on parts diagrams for both years I really do not see anything different.
Thanks for the input.

From some research on Road Kings they haven't done anything to the the front forks internals, they upgraded the Street Glides with emulators but left the basic system in the RK with no emulators. Been checking out the Gold valves, Ricor valves, Race Tech springs, fluid viscosity change but saying screw it and ride.

Thank you, that's pretty much what I've found or seen. I'm leaning towards using the RaceTech Gold Emulators to go with their springs I'm using now. Seems like the best change to make a complete system.

I have Emulators in my Sporty and am not impressed, so can't recommend them. By contrast a good friend with an older Sporty has them and is very pleased. Confusing!

I have used Intiminators in my Glide, modified by HDF member fabrik8r and they were fine, giving a worthwhile improvement. He is no longer a member, but the thread with his 'recipe' for fine tuning Intiminators is still around. I did use them successfully with Race Tech single-rate springs!

My Slim is five years old with 32k mi on the clock
She needs attention up front.
Will just research which hydraulic fluid to consider. And try that first, before I replace stuff.

I ditched the air shock systems front and back awhile ago. I can say there was an improvement with the ride when I went with the RaceTech single rate springs. I might give them a call and see what they recommend.

Not your question but using the lowers off an '08 Road Glide on your '96 Road King will require modification to use your old wheel as bearings are not the same.
Calipers might require adapters too.
Guessing the intent is to use newer wheel & newer calipers so that everything lines-up correctly?

Hello im. I've got the whole bike. Just a complete swap over. I'll have a '96 frame with an '08 suspension front and back so to say when I'm done.

Ok, that makes sense.
Did not want for someone to miss the bearing difference.
Please share unusual, different or odd information regarding crossover of parts as project moves along so others such as myself can learn.
