Had to look this up, Corn Belt boys don't stay up with the modern times like you East Coasters.

Since the thread is starting to target Traildog I'll post a mock up pic, bike is pushed in the corner until more parts come, Roadglide is in the featured spot now.

Mocked up: Carlini Gangster Apes, billet riser, Mustang Vintage Solo
Installed: rear JRI shocks total 2" lower
Coming: 1" lower front springs, urethane riser bushings
Have: S&S air cleaner - not installed (broke the T-jet trying to turn it for clearance), Barnett clutch cable

Appreciate the nice words and never had a bad compliment. Mid - life crisis - I don't know, bought quality stuff if it doesn't work and can be sold easily but starting to like it.

You pick a hell of a time of year for a make over......too ole for hangers but those do look koooooool on yours.

At the risk of contradicting Dan, I never understood your affinity or preference for beach bars. I am a fan of ape hangers but as of the moment I am apeless.

I think this is fanfu@#ingtastic! Apes on Road Kings is like red on apples. It's just right!

How tall are those bars? I've got 16's on mine, thinking 18-20's would be better.

16's Carlini's tend to run a little taller, 14's was shoulder height but my Shovel buddies pushed me to 16's and Carlini said 16's work their bends better, They actually wanted 20's also, but not that bold

Nice having both beach and apes, it would be a hard decision. I loved the chubby RK beach bars that were on my 05 RK, but then I also loved the 12 apes on Ester the 89 FLHS. I like where you're going though. I've been playing with the idea of converting my present 87 into a Road Glide though...just to see how it comes about....LOL.
