NOPE, the throwout bearing did need to be replaced but that did not fix it. I then noticed the clutch cable sheathing was collapsing at the adjuster as pictured. Now I need to order a new clutch cable and everything will be new.

I never saw a cable bunch up like that either, cable is about 6 yrs old. It was hidden under the cable support but once I fixed the throwout bearing and retainer clip I knew it had to be something up the line. Well know we know.
HD dealership was giving me all kinds of bad advice.
I use special cable lube 3 or 4 times a year and it was pretty smooth. I just lubed them this spring. May be the barnett clutch springs are stronger but still easy to pull. My guess is the HD cable was 6 yrs old and may have been defective for some time now.
