Just did some motor work for a guy and he really didn’t have the funds for the build so I made a deal with him for an 1989 heritage soft tail classic. I have an evo but never had to do any work on it .. is the 1989 evo the same as the 1995 Wide glide?
Other than being different model Harley, here are some differences:
- 5 speed mainshaft for 95 is splined and 89 has keyway to mate with clutch.
- engine, 95 is head breather and 89 is bottom case breather. 95 has oil filter mount at front of engine, 89 has it somewhere else.
-starter is different, because clutch pack are different
-primary housing will be different
There are other small differences, but I pointed out some major stuff. It would be cool to have two different Evos.
