Looking at 96 FatBoy, stock 13700 miles any thoughts on price.

4-7k I’d guess... depends on condition. The closer to stock the higher the price.

Condition ? Appearance ? with that few miles it should look like new. Being Stock is a big plus bubba aint screwed it up yet . I own a 96 Fb and would not let it go Staying until I am dead. I don't see it bring much over $ 5,000 but I am sure it could.
The 1996 Fb is a great ride if you like EVO's

You don’t see many mostly stock, low mileage FB’s for sale... so there’s that! Plus depending on how much you want THAT bike... and how much someone else wants THAT bike. That’s what determines the price.

In the long run, if you plunk down 5k or 9k, it’s how many years if enjoyment you get from it that matters. In a few years you won’t count the few k’s difference in price.

@GOGOBECK depends on why one may want it for also. Flipping? Customizing?
Buying price depends on return profit.
If someone just wants a classic to ride with. Then yeah. How bad do you want it? $9k is a lot for something that will require more maintenance than say, a late model. On this forum I have come to this realization. And the reason I’m here is to help me decide if I will ever settle on an evo. I can tell an evo by the sound it makes. Its the sound.
Now don’t get me wrong. I’m kind of a motorcycle ****. But, the evo is one motor that really speaks to me. That and the desmo from Ducati.
So, how bad someone wants something determines what they are willing to pay. If they got it? Go for it!

Harleys are not collectibles, and they are not rare...

7 grand for a 23 year old motorcycle is too high, unless it is still in the original unopened shipping box.

I absolutely agree Evo’s are not collectible or rare... it doesn’t mean they can’t bring a nice price though.

I purchased my bike new Nov,1997... $13,025 before taxes. I’ve had 100,000 trouble free miles over the last almost 23 years. If I found a mostly stock ‘97/‘98 bike with 11k on the odometer, in great condition, I would be overjoyed to pay $7000 for it!
I have a lot if parts I could move over to the “new” bike... fairing, luggage rack, seat, etc etc etc.
I know the machine top to bottom, so no learning curve.

So value is derived at through my experience. I’m sure I could buy a much newer TC for that same 7k, but I wouldn’t be interested, because I don’t have the same experience with one to draw on.

Value on these bikes can be a tricky question.
