98 ultra. First time changing gaskets. Don't know what pipes, but aftermarket with welded co2 bungholes. 2 into 2, no crossover, with 4" oval older Bassani's.

Do I order OEM James or Cometic kit with retainer rings or will I need to pull one to see what's in there? Front definitely leaking.

I used Moco's and my front leaks, been told cometic are better. Late twinkie exhaust on yours, bolts right on.

 

Copper crush, stainless wire, metallic, graphite? Which holds up best?

 

It depends on the headpipe of your bike. If they are tapered then use the tapered gaskets. If they are flat then use the flat gaskets. If they are flat I have found that using two of the flat gaskets stacked up works the best.

Just watch out that you don't snap the studs

 

Gonna presoak several times before trying. We'll see... maybe a little tweak in before trying to loosen.

Just a shot of lube on exhaust nuts. Came off easy.
