I'll spare everyone my reasons for asking but has anyone here tried their "Velocity Needle"?
NOT the mixture screw - the needle.
And, what needle did you replace with it?
What did it change? (best you can tell)
And what bike/mods were you running when you did it?
AFAIK, the needle I removed was the stocker.........
Thanks Omaha.
Hate to plead ignorant but I don't go to town much and not good with acronyms, so what's AFAIK?
(kinda looking for needle numbers like N65c/N72s/N8NN etc)

Use the EZ adjust needle on the wife's '85 FXEF and it works fine there, didn't change a thing except made it easier to adjust.
Tried one in '01 FXDXT and it didn't work out to well, had to go back to the OEM needle to be able to adjust it.
Both carbs are CV's , with the '85 being the "Screaming Eagle" one for that year. I think that it is the first year of the CV which came out later. On the '01 it is the stock CV for that year I think, original carb was stolen at the dealership and a "trashed" replacement was put on the bike.(This story is a long one and includes at least open heart surgery)
Also use the CVP emulsion tube, but had to use a 1/4*20 tap to be able to seat the CVP jets so that the needle would seat properly. Also run their slide which comes with an attached diaphragm.
In reality I have nothing bad to say about the CVP products and would use them again if the occasion ever came up.
Nope! They would not. Once I tapped them in they worked fine.
I really don't know if this was a one time thing or not, didn't call or even contact them about it. Just to easy to fix and move on.
The other thing I had to do was put the OEM spring back in to slow down the slide, There wasn't anything wrong with the action of the CVP spring it just didn't agree with the Twin Cams personality for some odd reason. Plus I was looking for mpg's and not performance enhancement, since I use the bikes for long trips instead of street light racing.
The EZ adjust needle would not give me enough control over the low speed jet, and low speed is what I wanted, again on the Twin Cam.
