Default 1990 fatboy

I am considering buying a 1990 FatBoy Grey Ghost. Bike is original paint and motor with some bolt-on accessories (exhaust, seat, hand grips, etc...). Are these bikes reliable, EVO motor is stock with under 16,000 miles....

What do these bikes go for ??? I see prices all over the place...

Is this s bike that can be ridden a lot? Does is qualify as vintage, collectible, or antique???

IIRC the FB was introduced in 1990, so if it was bone stock (or you have all the stock take-offs) it may be worth more than book. Evos are known to go round the clock (over 100k miles), with little attention, although many of us get the itch to 'improve' them in our own ways - as your bike has been. I'll let our softail owners comment on your other queries!

They are quite reliable, 16K is young for an Evo, and the market is saturated so I'd not pay a premium for anything. The giant biker bubble is dying with its boomers (which is great for buyers!). BTW "book" (KBB etc) isn't what a bike is worth in the market, it's loan value so banks have some sort of reference and questionable on older vehicles.

For vintage etc plate status read your state DMV rules.

Ask Softail enthusiasts re: precise value because I only track FXRs, but if that were in my fleet I'd own it to ride it. If I customized it I'd hang all the stock sheet metal including the oil tank on the wall since there's always someone who wants those and repops are plentiful and cheap.

Price is “Best Offer”. Whatever that means! I’ve seen people asking anywhere from $4,000 to $20,000....

Just trying to determine a fair offer

Unless he has every OEM part that was taken off that bike I wouldn't go over $5k.
