Default 1991 Springer Softail

Just picked up a 1991 Springer Softail for 3,000. It had sat outside for a good year. I cleaned it up, decided to put new stock spoke wheels on (they were rusty) new tires and basically a full tune up. Plugs, wires, all fluids. It runs great. I'm putting miles on it every day. Might sound strange but I have rode an Ironhead rigid chopper for the last 23 years. This is quite a different motorcycle. I've heard it's a desirable model. Curious what it's worth, even though I absolutely plan on keeping it and making it my daily driver. It has 28,000 stock miles on it. What can I expect to get out of it before a rebuild is needed. I've gotten a lot of different opinions.

This is my old ride. It was my daily driver for 23 years.

This was my daily driver for the last 23 years. 1974 Ironhead. Rigid frame, 10 in over shovel front end and wheels. Dual disk front brakes disc rear hand shift. It does have a rear fender and sissy bar it's just off in this pic.

Nice looking bike. No reason that motor couldn't do 100k miles if maintained properly. Good luck.

Gotta love a Springer. Congrats on a great find. It ought to last a long time if taken care of properly. I still ride my '86 Evo a couple of times a week.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but that springer is bent...may be just the spring rods...hard to tell...

If the front fork itself is bent....find a 92 up one so you can get rid of the "dirt bike" fender...

That's a nice find, for sure. I would imagine after 23 years of a hardtail that having suspension is indeed, 'different'. But I'm sure you'll enjoy many more miles on the new ride as well.

That Ironhead is pretty sweet looking.

The '91 looks like it cleaned up pretty well. But Tom's right. That's front end is bent.

As to what it's worth, I think you bought it right. Get the forks sorted, and assuming it presents as well in person as it looks in photos, I'm guessing it's a $5k to $6k bike. But just guessing.
