I have three of Harleys finest and use conventional dyno oils in all three, except my S&S Evo. While that does use synthetic oil I wouldn't use synth in any of the others. H-D oils are just fine - also solves the problem of which of the zillions of the other brands to use as an alternative!

Everyone likes different kinds of oils, Most all are good as long as they are Motor cycle oils. If your bike has been using synthetic oil continue to use it, if not using synthetics may cause a leak around the heads. That said I use mobil1 20-50 Bell ray 85-140 trans. and Harley primary oil. Like I said everyone like something different. When your not sure Harley oils are good too.

Another important thing is to let the motor warm up before whacking the throttle, Evos have a tendency of base gasket leaks when you don’t.

These guys have ya covered.
Good deal on the Manual. Good that ya got it.

Can't go wrong with Amsoil tho Mobil1 stuff has been a go to for years.
That being said mine has gotten new gaskets with top ends done.

I road raced as a kid for several years. Started in 85.
Was then! And only then that I became aware of synthetic lubes. And used them exclusively through out every component that required lube based off the recommendation of the more experienced racers. Some were pro. Guys that raced on factory works machines were passing the info down to us. Yeah! Synthetic. It does your motor good.
