Thanks everyone...I ordered the one I linked to in the first post. I will follow up with a post here on how close it matches the original. If there is no cut out for the carb as Dan89FLSTC showed in his pic, then I guess that is what a cut off wheel and a file is for.
As far s the "Dyna Convertible" center insert, that will be another day and another search. I do like the cover LQQK OUT linked to. Too late to put that on my xmas list.
I will probably powder coat the old one, and use that as a back up. YD
I bought one of those OEM covers when I switched over to the CV carb on my `89 FLST, I never thought about the model markings on it, but just by luck it had the center marking for my model bike.

The air filter cover I linked to in the first post is a very close copy to the original stock 8" round air cleaner on our evo's. When comparing the OEM with this copy, it is hard to tell the difference. The factory original inserts will fit just fine.
It is V-twin part number 34-0548. Also known as Wyatt Gatling 34-0548. The chrome is nice, but it does not have the carb cut out for bikes that have the CV carb. However, it fit fine with out making a cut out. There is still plenty of clearance so trimming was not needed. I do have the screamin eagle flat aluminum backing plate, and I don't think it will work with the stock plastic backing plate unless it is cut to fit.
The most significant difference is the metal is thinner than the oem one. Still, looking at it mounted on the bike you can't tell, but in your hands you will notice the weight difference. For forty bucks, it's not a bad deal taking the issues I mentioned into consideration. YD
You could take your old one and have it powder coated to match your paint scheme. I had mine done in black on my Road King.
do you know where to find the small insert you have for this air cleaner? The round portion where the bolt threads through. I cant find them online anywhere. Obsolete part

Look and shop on ebay and be patient. You can get some here but you'll get sticker shock. If you'll settle for a Screamin Eagle insert, they're all over ebay cheap.
It didnt specify it was an Evo era fit but as it was made to fit screaming eagle / K&N filters I winged it and its been on my scoot for a few years working fine.
