I have a 92 heitage and I can hear and feel air coming out of the base gasket on front cylinder is this a major issue that needs addressed any help would be appreciated thanks
Good move, sooner the better too. Small issues have a nasty habit of becoming bigger expensive ones if you try to ignore them. Comtic metal wafer gaskets don't waste time & money with James.

What have you got against James metal gaskets?
I've used both and the only real difference that I could see was where the head gasket layers were riveted together.
Lost the love for James years ago, didn't help I had an inside into the company for a while and I won't go into it past that. Honestly Cometic makes a better gasket fit and materials used wise
O.P. ... a little advice that may help in the future ... EVO's tend to like a little bit of warmth before taking off for a ride ... Give 'em a minute to get the blood flowin' ... The base gaskets will thank you :>)

Thanks for the info.
I bought a basket case a few years ago and it came with James steel gaskets and I couldn't tell a difference.
Then again I wasn't looking at them side by side.
So far they've been holding up but it's the spare bike and doesn't get ridden much.
