EVOrider,
I had the same experience on my 1991 FXSTC. When I removed the jiffy stand to investigate I found that it was mounted to a sub-bracket that was boklted to the frame. The bolts for the sub-bracket are hidden by the jiify stand and one was sheared and the other two were loose. I relaced all three with grade 8's and the lean angle is back to original.
Lots of small parts involved in a jiffy stand, and now they are old. As stated, take it apart and diagnose the issue, if it is leaning more something is failing. Good luck.
My 98 Ultra has the original jiffy stand. The bike is not lowered. Stand doesn’t appear bent or damaged. The spring was replaced emseveral years ago.
It just seems the bike leans over more than it use to. Anyone else experienced this?
Thanks
Not with that year.
I believe it was the 2013's that had that problem. If (and it is a big if), 2013 is the year Harley made the frame for that bike a little larger, they forgot to extend the kickstand a little bit more. So the 2013's and I think the 2014's lean more than usual until you switch out the Jiffy stand.
It is something like the 2015's with a came corrected.
@Architect ... says that man with his pan parked on the beach LOL
Flathead, but yeh on the beach, sand is soft.
Every morning before the races I find an old beer can in a garbage can, crush it and carry it around while racing in my back pocket. When I need to park, beer can goes under the jiffy stand. Very, very primitive, but it works. One year I found one of those tall Guinness cans, that one worked really well!!!!!!
