new Harley owner need help with a no spark....its a 1988 fxrs sp. ive tried everything in the manual. still no spark....new coil, new ignition switch , new plugs. wires ohm out good . When you say "everything in the manual." are you using the HD Factory Service Manual, or is it another brand of book?
I will second the cam sensor as you pretty much replaced everything else. The nose cone cam sensor (especially on the earlier evo's) have a reputation...but then again our bikes are getting up there in age. If you search cam sensor you will get the idea of what to check and where to purchase.
T150vej just recently posted a nice quick and dirty "how to" on checking the cam sensor. I saved it somewhere, but again it was a pretty recent post, should not be hard to find. YD
Here's a video that will help determine if your cam position sensor is doing is job... Even though I did this on my 77 FX there ignition it's an updated 90'S SE programmable ignition with a Standard Motor Products Hall effect cam position sensor that works identically like yours.
