1995 Road King. Just completed a complete top end rebuild from wrist pin bushings , .005 over bore - pistons, rings, valve job.
Not my first rodeo. But. Has been awhile. I know how to ride a break in. Just wondering. How many miles do you ride before first oil-filter change. I been told 50 miles. I am thinking maybe 100. 50 maybe not enough to get all the rough edges off. Ya'll thoughts.
Just a bore & piston job break in is easy , was a complete R&R I suggest a bit more strident break in out to 500mi. Mine I'd do oil only and catch the filter next time on just upper end jobs with no valves involved.
And let's face it you ain't gonna get all happy handed on her are you?
Although I did a few 20 mile rides a couple of weeks ago, after fixing leaky push rod cover o-rings I did my main ride Monday. Jug Honing, new rings, Head job. Got the oil and filter on standby. Probably change out the next few days, and I have a paint cone filter to strain the old oil thru just for ***** and giggles.
