Default Lubricant question

I’m using Harley 20w50 conventional oil in engine and Formula Plus in primary and tranny. Is there a better option that I should know about. I’ve read all the info on the Valvoline VR1. Some run 20w50 conventional in the primary but I’ve read a lot about why not to do that also. I know it’s a loaded question. If using the current fluids is best, I’m fine with that. I know a local shop that sells and recommends Drag Specialties 20W50 for engine, Drag primary oil for primary and drag gear oil for tranny. It is a little less expensive than Harley stuff but not much. Thanks again for the info.

You know oil threads and opinions are like a**holes, eveyone has one. FWIW, you are fine, but I would consider putting Redline or Mobil 1 in the tranny.

You will read opinions about oil forever! I recommend you support the local shop and get the Drag Specialties oils because it is cheaper and better than Harley stuff. One opinion that is fairly consistent is to change your oil at regular intervals.

Rangers lead the way!
