cracked inner fairing
I saw a video of a process something like "plastic tig welding". It was seriously cool. They had a pinpoint torch (don't know if it was just super-hot air or an actual torch like oxy or something) and a plastic filler rod, and it went down just like tig welding. A little sanding. A little paint. And that baby would be good as new.

OP, if you need a replacement, I've been very happy with everything I've bought from Pinwall Cycle Salvage. They're not the lowest price but very honest with the condition descriptions. The condition of my last order far exceeded my expectations.
Good luck with whichever direction you go, if it were me (having done "plastic welding"), I'd opt for a used one vs. repairing the old one. It will be a lot less work and get you on the road sooner if you can find one.

while replacing my stearing bearings I find out that the former owner must have let down the bike also.
I find a crack at the left side on the inner Fairing and windshield.
Now I use an replacement windshy without the down holes and use the holes for added turn signal control cause the Fairing bag covers the original sometimes.
To repair the crack I use JB weld.
Seams it works well.
Actually the fastest and savest solution.
I repair several things at my cars with JB weld and it works always since.
