Default Badlands Module ???

When I bought all the parts off the 85 I got the handlebar controls too. The came with a Badlands module, it has no markings as to what it is, just a Badlands sticker, but the wire colors seem to make it an ATS hard wire unit.

Does this replace the stock 2 flasher system? Do I have to "rewire" the flasher system to make it work?

Take a look at their website, where you may be able to confirm what you have by the wiring colours. I have one of their modules, to adapt my stock flasher electronic module for LEDs, but they also now make an LED specific module that replaces the stock module.

My 87 came with 2 flashers and a switch.....hold to blink system. I've got the wiring system figured out, and from what I can tell it does replace both flashers and becomes like a factory module. I will wire it into the existing dash harness similar to the factory later model setup.

Thumbs up

That would make sense. I forgot that my 1990 was the first year IIRC that the fancy module came out, replacing the flasher units. If the Badlands is anything like mine you will be able to press on, press off; press both switches and get hazards with all 4 flashing together.

That's what I'm finding out...starting on the dash electrics.

Mike, I started my Harley days on a new 1974 FX1200 with those buttons, so served my apprenticeship over several years on that bike - I feel your pain!
