Dan89FLSTC posted about putting an extended brake pedal on his old softail and that inspired me to buy one for my 86 flst because i have always hated its placement.
I couldn't find one listed for an 86 flst but v twin had one for 87-99 fl softails so i assumed it would also fit my 86 becasue lots of parts places exclude the 86 heritage for some reason. But i was wrong....
So here are a few pics of my pedal. Is this a one year one model only part?? I cant find a similar pedal anywhere. Part number is 42407-86.
The issue is where the brake rod mounts has an offset to it and it also has a place for a stop bolt.
for comparison the last picture is of the new v twin one that doesnt fit. Note the brake rod ear is straight.
