For now, Id like to just continue this on the other thread
5-Speed shafts out of aline
Its a 1991 FLHTC with a 2005-built S&S V96. After some research, found transmission serial number not original to frame but its still a 91 tranny. But to answer the question, yes, motor mounts checked, new front rubber mount. To this point I just took trap door off and pressed in new bearings.
And Mike131 I found the trap door bearings were probably 7/10 of what new ones feel like. Sensed just a little lack of 100% smooth.
yea Ill see yall on the other thread. Probably broke protocol doing two. New to this stuff but highly value your knowledge.

Yeah, Max got a good eye but the thrust washer is next to the gear and intact. The gap at the red arrow is the lock ring end(s) which looks like the correct space.
Also, the counter shaft looks to be at correct depth since the 5th gear idler is fully meshed with the main drive gear. Looks that way to me.
Captscotty, do this - take the clutch cover off and with the handle of a hammer, give the clutch hub a good hard bump or two. I'd wager the main shaft will slide to the door side enough that everything will look a lot better for you. Then knock the roll pin/dowel out of the trap door and put it back in the transmission housing where it belongs. Finish up the job...
Nailing down a vibration issue, especially at a particular rpm can be as simple as a primary chain adjustment or loose bolt somewhere... or it can easily turn into a life's work.
If you think your trap door bearings are 7/10, I don't think that's your vibration, no whining or gear noise in the transmission? Id be pulling that primary cover and taking a look, t150vej is right, vibration could be coming from a lot of places including engine
