Default Jet question.

I have a 91 Electra glide. It had a quick silver carb that had so many issues so I put a cv in its place. I run a ev13 cam and ground pounders shorty pipes with k&n filter. My question is I have changed the jets to 45/180 and seems to run fine. Does anyone Elise have this set up if so what jets or changes have you made to get the best performance.

The 180 sounds about right and nothing wrong with the 45 slow jet. That said I found the 48 slow to make my ‘97 RK start a bit better.

Keep the 45, your throwing too much fuel with a 48....

I went with the Andrews recommended 48 and 195 jets with the EV27 cam. Fires right up.

Im not clouding nothing, its literally in the install instructions. They make no distinction between 13, 27, 3, etc... They just say its a good starting point.

My results were different... I prefer the 48, it starts easier and has less of that lean gurgling on deceleration.

Default 45/180

So with the 45/180 it still just doesn’t have the response I think it should or the power. What should I have the air mixture it’s at 2 3/4 turns right now. The reason I have these questions is I had a edelbrock quicksilver and it had better response and power but it would never stay running always issues with it. So I went with a cv carb and it is better just feels like there could be more or an adjustment I’m missing. Thank you for the help.

2 3/4 turn on the mixture would indicate a small pilot.. try the 48.. should be around 2 turns out.. Although I know Scott always said 2-3 turns..
