Yea i jist finished puting a hammer 1250 big bore kit on my 99 harley 883 and now im about to upgrade on my carberator and exhaust and i was jist wondering if anyone could tell me what the best match would be to get the most out of that particular hammer kit thanxs in advance
Carb wise: whatever your flavor is. A lot of guys juice up their cv's. A lot of guys like mikunis. We also have a lot of s&s loyalists like myself that prefer a super e. With a 1250 kit you'll be fine with a cv
Exhaust: buy a good 2-1 with adequate back pressure. For example a supertrapp would probably be one of the best options. I also like thunderheaders
A 2-1 clears the spent gases on the non firing pipe just allowing the exhaust to efficient, carbs are personal preference. A CV with some parts from CV performance can supply 100 hp, Mikuni's have the better throttle response, S&S is a old school hotrod carb, they all get the job done but comes down to proper tuning.
I don't believe that anybody would put a hammer 1250 kit in with out doing any headwork.. Most of their builds are high rpm, that's where they make they're real power.. What did Hammer Performance recommend?
