I did mine long ago, but as I recall the sound was much different. Prior to the true dual, not much was going to the left side pipe, so most of the exhaust note was coming from the right. Performance was neither enhanced nor reduced, although that's just my subjective impression, not a dyno.

really getting to know it and not wanting to kick it over.
She's my dandy now and I'm sure the duals help.
Bike has been painted doing away with the two tone paint.Pic in my signature, same bike.
I like the "stereo" effect of true dual. You get a pulse on each side of the bike at different times. My 1992 had a cracked pipe and I cut and welded the left side off, but later got a set of samsons (true dual)
