Hey there–
I'm working on an '87 FXR rebuild and am wondering if anyone has a clear torque spec sheet for Big Twins? I've got the service manual which lists specs based on bolt size, but not for each bolt location like newer Harley manuals do. Was just curious if there's an easier guide out there or if I just need to pull it together lol.
Thanks!
If it's the HD Factory Service Manual, you have to go to each individual repair section to the assembly portion to find "special" torque values for what part you're working on. If it's some other brand of manual, I can't help you.
Axles, front pulley nut, compensator nut, head bolts, engine case bolts/nuts, pinion nut, clutch hub nut, transmission shaft bearing nuts are the main ones that come to mind.
Otherwise, most everything is standard torque values for grade 5 fasteners.
