Default Wrapping the headers

I’m gonna wrap the headers with “natural color” wrap, that I bought on the cheap.

It came with SS tie wraps, like 12, but I may use clamps at the heads and the expansion joint. How far apart should there be a tie wrap?

I see they sell some kind of sealing spray, that folks seem to like, I’m assuming it has some adhesion properties. I don’t see it in clear or natural.

Never done this, and the wrap didn’t come with any instructions.

Any tips will be greatly appreciated

I only used the tie wraps at the start and end. But, mine wasn’t on the cheap.

YMMV...

I'm not a pro but this is what I've done and I've only used 2 inch black. It is easier to do pipes on the bike than off and on a dolly or table.

Use thick mil rubber gloves, soak the wrap, begin from end to front, clamp it, keep it tight and smooth, then clamp the end.

Those stainless zip ties are weak, a hose clamp works better, a wire clamp is best if you have the tool. I've never used a spray. I just expect it to look like **** after a while and wreck the pipes.

There is a solid argument for not wrapping you might want to read up on. I wrap areas that burn me. I like the wrapped look when it's done right.

A real biker uses urine but water would work fine. I let it soak in a bucket until it's saturated. It'll tighten up on the pipe when it dries.

Heat shields are unavailable on some of the older bike pipes. Supertrapp FXRs being one.
