Default Sportster wheel on fxr help

I’ve searched for as much info on this but haven’t come up with much. I’ve fitted the wheel on backwards as I’ve read that what you need to do. I used the bearings and the axle tube off my old solid cast wheel that came off it. The disc seems to sit very close to the caliper bracket but it does spin free. Have I done it right?

How did the original wheel look with reference to the disc? I would imagine it has to be the same else the brake wouldn't work.

Did you turn the tyre round?

I can’t remember how close it was! I’ve not turned the tyre round as it needs a new one. I don’t wanna fit a new tyre if the wheel won’t work. It does turn fine and brake works I pushed it down my drive.

My wheel bearing shims And washer are on the sprocket side. Is that correct? And if I move them over to the disc side would that give me a slightly bigger clearance of the caliper bracket?

It doesn't matter what side you put your bearing shims on.
Personally I think you're overthinking this.
You say it works fine on your stand so take it for a short test ride.
If everything works then leave it alone and if something doesn't work right then start trying to fix it.

Take a look at how the belt rides on the pulley and the pulley alignment with the front pulley. If you move the wheel over what effect will that have?

If the disc isn't touching anything I think it must be okay.
