So, I have been slowly rehabbing my '97 FLHT. It all started with a blown head gasket, then troubles with the CV carb. I got the head gasket fixed and installed an S&S Super E and Pingle fuel valve - all was well it seemed. The bike would start fine and idle good, then it would just die. The CPS was leaking, so I replaced with the standard motor product CPS, still dies after just a few minutes running at idle. There are no leaks at the intake, carb or VOES. I got discouraged and pushed it into a corner and its been just sitting.
After reading threads here and some advice I got, I bought / installed a new 50 amp main breaker and put in a new screamin eagle coil (because Im tired of taking this tank off, and 98 hotrod found one at house of harley for about $55)
So the bike has been gone through front to back, from the wheel bearings to the hand levers, with some brake upgrades. I got all buttoned up last night and will get some fresh 93 octane tonight and get it fired up. Fingers crossed, it runs right.
Ok my fingers are crossed... Are you gonna keep us in suspense?????
Oh **** as in tonight, not last night... DOH!!!!
Yep. Tonight. Working 7am-6pm and then home to get a gas can to bring back some juice. I'll post the results tonight. I feel pretty confident. I waas going to take the gas out of the Wife's Sportster last night to fire it, but she caught on.....hahaha
some fresh 92 octane, a little enrichner and she fired right up! I let it run for a good long while raising the rpms so the plugs didnt load up and it ran perfect. I shut it off and let it cool down and then it fired right up again with no enrichner. I couldnt be happier.
I need a points cover cover and to put the rest of the tins on it before I can take it for a ride, but am convinced she back to old form.
Both of my twin cams are great bikes, but nothing like hearing my cammed evo barking! Ill be riding it on Memorial Day.

Congrats..
Indeed! I love my Limited with the 103. It really moves out. The road king is an 88 with 96 kit and some work. It rolls good too. Not sure what all was done to it before I got it other than the 96 kit
Congrats, you sound excited to have the Evo going. Havn't fired the TC Roadglide up since August and don't know it's future when this Orphan thing comes out but the Evo is the go to so understand your joy, just something about those Evo's that grab you.
