I got stuck out yesterday in 97F heat in traffic. Engine hot and noisy. Gauge down to 5-10lbs. Not much air flow on that old Ultra. 60k miles on it. The thing usually has great oil pressure. Sure made me think about 60w. Anyone else think that way?
same thing happen to me last week . i been batting around running something heavier in the summer months
i have a 98 fatty .. with motor work done and head work done
done by the PO
My 1997 ran hot when new, a couple of years later they introduced the HD Syn3 synthetic oil, significantly reduced temps and made the bike more comfortable in the summer months. I never looked back and still use it on the two newest bikes I have, in fact it is about the only reason I go to the dealership. Good luck.
I will run 60w in my evo in the summer down here in Texas when its 110 degrees, 60w only really needs to be considered if you live in an extremely hot climate
