I do have to admit I'm loving this bike. I am finally loosening up a bit and getting back into the rhythm again of a bigger bike. Put about 600 miles on it this week. I can't hardly stay off it. Had some fun in the Twisties today with it. Just got to get used to the heavier brake pedal on the rear brake and use a bit more front brake than I'm used to. Gotta few parts I want to take care of. Get the proper hose clamps for tht tank cross over, picked up a bullet cap to cover the splines for the heel shifter, some billet caps for the head bolts are coming as they are a bit corroded. Debating on getting the missing fork baffle. I've read on here it's a love hate thing. And a few other small odds and ends like the cover for the fork lock.

Couple new questions.

Anyone have issues with the side stand (jiffy stand) rubber moving so the stand when folded rattles on the frame?? I've fixed it twice now and after a few times it moved upwards so the stand hits the frame and rattles at a stop light.

Previous said he bled the brakes late last year. Looks okay but the fluid is not purple like I expect Dot 5 to be. When I start a ride the pedal is firm and fairly responsive. After a bit of riding it seems to take more effort to press the pedal. Always can stop but I really have to press sometimes.

Are the Floor boards adjustable? I would like to lift the fronts up a bit leave the backs where they are at. See the holes I just didn't want to mess with them if it's not possible.

And lastly I have a chirp noise as I ride. Is that just the breathers? Running a Ness Big Sucker air cleaner.

Thanks guys.

A little rear brake and countersteer and you'll be surprised how nimble it can be. Keep the R's up and it will pull you through switchbacks with ease.

I believe you can raise the front of the floorboard but you may not like the position of the brake pedal. The rubber snubber for the jiffy stand will move around especially as they age and break down. They're inexpensive, you might want to replace it or add a new one, the new rubber should stay put better than the old. I also have a big sucker but have not experienced any chirping sound from it.

Check your exhaust pipe fittings for the chirp… a small leak at any of those connections will cause that chirping sound.
Ive had it happen twice on my ‘97 RK. It comes from installing the exhaust and tightening each connection one by one as opposed to tightening them all bit by bit, Kinda like tightening lug nuts on a wheel.

.

Thanks guys. I ordered a new snubber as it does move around very early on the lower frame tube. Went around and snugged up all the exhaust clamps and the outlets, all tool just a little bit. Hopefully that cures the chirping. Also found I have a full Glide Pro engine mount setup as well. I'm debating on getting the soft brake for it so I don't have to lift my foot up so far to brake and leave the boards where they are at. Still might play a bit.

you can also get chirping for the rear muffler mounts, the rubber in the bracket gets old and will chirp enough to drive you crazy ... spray them with a little silicone or WD to see if the chirp goes away, if it does replacing them is easy to do

Check the rear rotor and see if it is possible that the pads are dragging and causing an issue with the pedal by expanding the fluid due to heat.

Have seen the rear belt cause that and cleaning it with a brush with soapy water can cure it.

I'm debating on getting the soft brake for it
FYI: I ordered a Softbrake “plain” pedal on April 20, they called to say it might be a few weeks, because the chrome plating shop was backed up. They tried to talk me into the “slotted” style… not what I want.
But they billed my CC immediately.
I still haven’t received the pedal. I emailed them June 17th, no response.
If I don’t get a response today, I’ll have to go through the CC company to remove their charges.
Before ordering, verify its in stock, ready to ship!

Thanks a quick call even though they said in stock in the site for my bike netted a not in stock currently unavailable. No ETA for shipping.
Seems like they are still dealing with a back log.

I'll definitely check the fluid now and make sure it looks good and the piston is not sticking in the caliper.

tonight while cleaning the underside (darn fresh tar) I noticed these engraving marks on the bottom case halves. Are these Harley marks? Or maybe this case has been split before.
