Which derby cover gasket do you prefer, I had my bike on the kickstand and I saw a drip out the bottom, removed cover and it has the flat gasket but the red silicone part looked poorly done. Im seeing theres an oring which I think was the old style. Which do yall prefer? Ive read the oring last forever.
I switched to the flat gasket and never had an issue. O ring needs to be replaced every time you open the derby cover, flat gasket can be re-used several times. O ring also used to be a little bit of a PITA, flat gasket less fussy.
That said, either in good working order will stop a leak. If yours is leaking, replace the gasket, dealer's choice as to which one. Good luck.
