FLHC 1987 shuts off at speed
I've had a similar issue in the past.
The following parts will be installed on this Thursday: New coil pack and new ignition module. Appreciate any ideas. I'm not good on Harleys but love this bike. Had lots of air head BMW's thought. This Harley is wonderful when she's runnin well.
We ordered and received a ignition module and "pick up", new coil pack which will be installed
Also the carb will be dissembled and re cleaned . Float level will be verified or set to spec. Carb is a new CV carb but may have had some dirt before the fuel filter install
New coil wires and plugs
Fuel line is brand new. Petcock will be removed and screen checked even though excellent flow was seen by me into a clear drinking glass. (just to be certain) Tank was cleaned and sealed with Cream 30 days ago. The jets and needle circuit is is good. Bike runs perfect, no back fire, wheezing, idle is consistent and plug check is brown. No bucking, pulls hard and levels out smoothly and cruises smooth with no jerking or hesitations. (when it runs)

Only thing didn't order is the ignition relay that someone mentioned that is in the head light. After all this if it don't run right, I got no idea. Thank all you guys for your suggestions. I'm tryin to do em all. This bike is flawless as far as factory paint. A shame it sat so long (17 years but, I'm gonna replace everything I have to to make it right.
Compression was checked also and base and head gaskets were replaced too. Thanks again and I'll let ya all know how this ends up.
