Default final drv

Went to pull my 87 glide into the barn, and no go. My drive belt finally broke.I have had a bullet sized hole in it for 12 years plus. Got a Andrews 27,the rejetted stock Keihn, and a pair of hd/Kirker fishtails, with baffels.Question: is it wise to change my pulley/belt ratios .I like to run her about 70mph on the road.it would be nice to bring the rpms down a little.I got a 135 tooth belt now.If its practical, what are the pulley teeth and belt combo that would do it.If i won't be happy. please tell me.

Depends on your riding style and how happy you are with how the bike performs at various speeds. If you drop the tooth count on the rear pulley you will have lower RPMs at the same speed, however, you'll lose some pull low end.

A little cheaper and easier to replace the front pully with a 34t steel unit from Andrews, J&P sells them with the upgraded locking kit for a reasonable amount of cash. Also while you are there it is wise to replace the quad seal and the tranny main seal and the tranny shifter arm...
