Well dudes and dudes. Thought I was riding to little Sturgis on my scooter. But my transmission just lost all gears. I can hear it shift and it almost goes in 1st. But nothing. So I’ve got to sell my 02 Honda VT 1100 Sabre so I can by a trani. Really sucks because my wife bought most of it for me. It’s also fully dressed and nice to look at and ride. Gonna break her heart when it leaves but hey, I hate , but gotta go at$3500. That’s a lot less then I have in it. Figured I’d share my let down.✌️
Why are you condeming the "trani" when it could be something as simple as a shift pawl spring?
I don’t know, guess I just assumed it was leaving me.lol gonna look at it right after the steaks are done grilling. If it ain’t nothing but the spring then I’ll be happy again. Thanks for that thought. Made me laugh. 🤞🏼
I can't see selling a honduh as a bad thing, except for the sentimental value, but replacing the whole transmission for 3.5 large versus diagnosing and fixing the problem, which is probably minor or at least one part and not the whole thing, just doesn't make much sense to me. This is July 5th. Sturgis is still a few weeks away. Start breaking it down and see what's wrong with it.
it’s an 85 softtail, well the motor came off a 85 wide glide and the frame is titled in 96. An individual made the frame. The guy at the Harley shop in Paducah said it was and that it was a great frame. He said the guys name but I don’t remember the name. But it wasn’t an everyday name. Has the builder title. But when I buy parts the heritage is where I find most parts. Don’t know why, I am figuring it out as I go.
