I bought the bike out of Terre Hope last year. The frame is a softtail style Lowrider and the motor and trani is off the 85 wide glide, chain driven

 

OK, then you have a 85 Wide Glide transmission. Probably. Is it apart yet? If that is beyond your skill set, then an indy should be able to have you back on the road in time for Sturgis, but you're burnin' daylight here.

 

That would be a 4 speed transmission.

I think it is obvious we can`t talk you through this issue.

As the Doctor says, you need to find a competent independent mechanic in your area.
