Thinking of buying a 97 FLHTC with 43,000 miles . Bike is pretty clean hasnt been rode much in 2 years basically started and rode a few miles every month or so . I noticed front and back base gaskets were seeping a little . Anything else to look for ?

 

Tires. Drivebelt and rear sprocket condition, if so equipped. All gauges operating correctly. How and if it is marking it's territory come to mind. Ken

 

Pull the seat and eyeball the electrical for splicing and any wiring issues is usually in the top of the list as well.

Gonna want new rubber and change fluids and pack/inspect the bearings when you add new shoes to it.

with 43k miles, the lifters are at the end of their life and should be changed ... tires need to be checked, most any seeping or marking it's spot can be fixed with a new set of gaskets ... intake seals probably need changed, they get dry and start sucking air
