Default SS Super E dumping gas into engine

So I’ve got an 84 FXR. Purchased from original owner. Gas was in the oil so it’s been dumped and re filled. Gas re-appeared in oil since I’ve been working on it. S&S super e has been apart, cleaned, and rebuilt. Gas is still getting by. I discovered when I start it and let it run, overnight the float bowl is dry. No gas on the floor or leaking out. Can it be draining into the engine? Petcock changed already too. Have not put any miles on it as I’ve been trying to solve this issue. No smoke yet.

Check the float adjustment would be my first recommendation. Sounds like the petcock is working fine if you turn it off and run it dry and the bowl remains dry. It's got to be the float adjustment or a bad float needle or needle seat.

Thanks iron,
So after it runs and the float is full, if the needle/seat are bad would it let the remaining fuel in the bowl pass through to the carb? After it runs it’s full then it just drains itself overnight. I have no idea where it’s going

Yup^ you needle seat is blocked or the needle itself needs to be replaced
