Default Front motor isolator

Hello all.

First: I'm not trying to open a can of worms, but I have two questions.

My FXDWG '98 motor isolators (motor mounts) never been changed. Vibration now begun to increase, so they probably been delivering on overtime...

I know there are a lot of aftermarket isolators of different designs but I rather continue on the OEM route. I'm a (very) slow rider so no need for extra road holding or stabilisation, just getting the vibrations back to previous levels.

Also most if not all of the aftermarked isolators is not possible to obtain here in Sweden and delivery from USA to my shores is expensive with freight and toll charges and VAT on top of that.

Now for the questions, I heard that there is a OEM BUELL isolator that is a straight swap for a Dyna. Wich year and model of BUELL uses this isolator?
I can get BUELL OEM parts here in Sweden.

Thanks for any advice!
Cheers/Kjell

Get the vibratecnics predator mount for your front mount and an open rear one. Vibratechnics is a UK owned company

I changed the web reader on my cellphone, and now the search function actually function.

Found the partnumber in another thread, as per above.

Forgive me, I may be mistaken in thinking you are confused from something you read, but the Buell front mount is identical to the Touring models and is nothing like an FX mount.

There are discussions that come up in internet searches that talk about ordering the Buell front mount that for a while, was the earlier version of the 16207-79 which was still available thru Buell. The thinking was the earlier ones were "softer" with less vibrations. But the current 16207-79(D) is all they have now, to the best of my knowledge. It has a mushroom look on the top side. Again, nothing like the mounts on an FX. Stick with OEM and you will be better served.

Touring model(s) front mount

FX front mount

Default Much obliged.

t150vej, thanks!

Yes, I search the net for pictures and noticed that my Isolator looked nothing like the Buell one.
So, I guess I stick to the OEM version.
Cheers! /Kjell

I thought my 1998 FXDL needed new mounts due to increased vibration. The mounts were actually ok.

The rear mount had rivets that pupped out and wasn’t keeping the mount tightly secured. Ended up installing small bolts/nuts in the rivet holes. The vibration was acceptable after that.

Something to inspect on your bike….

Those rivets on the left are what had popped out. Can happen front or rear…..mine was rear.

Considering our evos are getting pretty old, I would put a jack under the engine to keep it in place then pull the mount and inspect the rubber for any signs of rot. My superglide started vibrating more and i thought it was the front mount but it turn out to be something else causing it. It was a while ago so i can't remember exactly what it was. I would also check the rear one out just visually and inspect the metal thing mount on top of the motor for any slop. I know when my bike stumbles as in starts to quit running it shakes way more.
