I have just purchased a 1998 FLSTS, but unfortunately it has no keys.
The ignition is unlocked so I can still use it, however I want to get keys.
Is there a way to get keys some how?........would a dealership be able to discover from the VIN number?
If they go back that far, Harley Dealer's can order new barrel keys off the VIN as long as you show proof of ownership. (You do have proof of ownership?)
Most dealers will be able to order replacement keys for you if you provide a VIN and proof of ownership. Title, registration or insurance paper should suffice. Expect to pay $30.00 - $35.00 USD for a pair of them. It usually takes about a week but, I see you're across the pond so it may take a bit longer.
When bike was new there were a key tag with a number on it, delivered with the keys.
You can order a new key if you still have that tag.
Also check if the first owner wrote down the key tag number in the owner handbook, if you got that with the bike.
It appears that you are in the UK.
If a dealer is unable to assist then consider removing the key lock from motorcycle console and taking lock to locksmith.
The locksmith can decode the key and make a new one.
