I rolled the dice on eBay, like so many of us do, and purchased a dirt cheap set of what I'm told are Vance and Hines 17207 Original Short Shots. The mounting tabs have been "repaired", look like *** but are actually solid, and on them are the only identifying marks I can find 448. Yes, I'll be giving V&H a call tomorrow but I'd thought I'd give some of our arm chair experts a crack at identifying these. I loosely bolted everything up and everything is just barely out of alignment, getting them torqued down at the heads was nearly impossible, it just seemed that they wouldn't go into the heads. I have since learned according to V&H website, that welded exhaust ring systems use flat gaskets and would explain a lot, I have a set lying around I'm going to try tomorrow which will hopefully answer my fitment issues. Anyway, I'm not seeing the V&H logo on these and I highly doubt they're Short Shots, did they not stamp their logo on 90s exhaust systems? If they're not Short Shots, what could they be, Long Shots Staggered?

 

Well, V&H said it's not one of theirs but he was curious on what it could be and requested pictures of it.

 

Factory pipes use the tapered gasket, aftermark use the flat style. Will make a huge difference in your alignment. No clue who makes them, never seen a set of V&H that were not marked somewhere.

 

The Cycle Shack system I took off uses tapered, all depends on what flange style the company uses.
