Default Evo cam position sensor...

Does anyone know how many degrees of timing are in between each increment stamped on the face of the cps? I'm looking between the 2 longer marks, not to include the small in-between marks.. I'm thinking 5 degrees.. thanks...

Correct. 5 degrees between the long ones, 2-1/2 between the short ones... if you can even see that well - I can't. Lol

Very welcome.

Don't know if you would ever need this, but I did some math the other day and best I can cipher, moving the cam plate .014 = 1 degree timing on the flywheel.

Based on the above info and the curious mind that I have... I decided to measure with the verniers and the best I can make it is about. 120" for 5*.. So I'm thinking. 024" per degree...

I spoke with Dynatek the other day to discuss their advance curves on the 2ki. I wanted to be a little more aggressive on the advance but do not want to use curve 1.. I feel that it's a little too aggressive.. I've always used curve 2 but wanted a little more.. So in our discussion I mentioned that if I set the base timing 4 more degrees on the base timing would that 4 degrees advance the entire curve and would my timing at full advance be 39 degrees.. They did confirmed my idea, so I'm gonna give it a try and see what happens.. The rpm/timing will be like this..
2000/24*
2500/27*
3000/31.*
3500/33*
4000/36.5
4500/37* and My full advance of 39* will not come in till 5000 rpm so I think I'll be ok.. might have to give it a little more fuel though... This is all an estimation and can only be verified with a timing light.. More playing maybe more power.. Hell maybe the 3 HP I've been looking for for years.. lol...

On the last page under tuning tips, I just read that doing what I said above is al ready written.. Maybe next time I'll read a little more..... oh well..

.
Yeah, OK. I was doing the math off the circumference or the rotor cup. No wonder I was so far off... so, "pay no attention to the old man behind the curtain"

Nothing to worry about your knowledge is up there... As for the rotor cup measurement, it's very possible your right... It is a lot smaller in diameter than the cps plate... No big deal..

Funny thing here is that I knew exactly who it was saying this before I saw the Avatar.. Pretty sure I'm done chasing.. But a124"er does sound enticing...
